Your tags survive
the round trip.

Syntag is a translation management system built for tag-heavy CAT work. Import a Trados package, translate with every inline tag held safe, and export a return package that opens clean in Studio.

Built for the files that break other tools

Every feature below is tested against real Trados Studio round trips — packages made in Studio, edited in Syntag, and opened again in Studio.

Tags are atomic

Inline tags render as chips your cursor can't wander into. Pairs live and die together, orphaned halves keep their identity, and a broken tag can't reach export — placeholders block, formatting warns, exactly like Studio.

Trados-grade round trips

Import .sdlppx, hand back .sdlrpx. Segments, statuses, formatting, structure context and tracked changes come through intact — verified byte-for-byte against Studio's own output.

Reviewer-grade tracked changes

Token-aware redlines that respect tags: markup is never split, escaped, or shown as noise. Reviewers see clean insertions and deletions — even inside heavily tagged segments.

QA you can trust

Deterministic checks — tags, numbers, whitespace, consistency — never a model's opinion. A project-wide findings panel with a full dismiss-and-restore audit trail keeps sign-off honest.

Reads like the document

Bold is bold, headings look like headings, footnotes and hyperlinks announce themselves — or flip one toggle and see every tag as chips. A Basic mode keeps huge files light.

Drafting on tap

A built-in assistant can pre-translate and draft segment by segment. Drafts are always drafts — every segment waits for a human confirm, and the same tag gates apply to the assistant as to you.

The honest part

Syntag is in early access, and it is free while we perfect it. Today it speaks SDLXLIFF and Trados packages; file-type support to match Studio is the goal we are building toward, round trip by round trip.

It is built by a working translator who field-tests every build against real Studio projects — the bugs you'd hit are the bugs we hunt. If that sounds like your kind of tool, we'd love your files to break it.
